OPEN GARDENS

In May 2016 an open gardens event took place in the villages of Blagdon Hill and Lowton.

Eleven gardens were opened to the public over a mainly sunny two days on the Bank Holiday weekend. There was an entrance fee of £5 which gave access to all the gardens. Refreshments including drinks, home-made cakes and cream teas were offered at several of the locations and many raffle tickets were sold.

The event was highly successful and raised a magnificent total of £3,700 for the Playing Field Association adding to the ‘war chest’ set aside for the building of a new pavilion and hall; a project which is still very much alive.

The PFA committee is very grateful to the organisers and participants of the event for all their hard work.
